The word Bornhava is derived from the word “børnehave”, which is of Danish origin.

Børnehave(n) literally means “children’s garden” or “children’s place”.

English Translations: It is commonly translated as kindergarten, nursery school, or day care.

First, we need to receive a referral from either your school district (for preschool) or your service coordinator (early intervention). When a spot becomes available, we will review your child’s evaluations and information to determine if we’d be able to provide the proper support for your child. If we fill they would be a good fit, we will reach out to you to set up a tour to meet the child and show you our facility. You are always welcome to call and ask for an update on  your child’s referral status.

No. There is no tuition payment for your child to attend Bornhava.

Bussing is available, and is provided by the county, for all children who need it. To receive bussing service, it must be included in your child’s IEP (Individualized Education Program).

You are also welcome to transport your child yourself. If you decide to transport your child, you will qualify for mileage reimbursement from the county.

We only allow your child to be picked up by those you provide on the child release authorization and we always ask for photo ID.

Yes, all doors are locked and visitors must be buzzed in to enter.

Yes. At the beginning of each school year, Bornhava updates and distributes a copy of our Parent Handbook to each family. The Parent Handbook provides important information regarding policies and procedures at Bornhava.

Upon receipt of the Parent Handbook, families must review and sign off that they had received it before a student begins.

Yes, Bornhava is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization. Because of this, any monetary contributions or donations made to our organization may be tax-deductible. Please speak with your financial advisor to determine if your contribution qualifies as a deductible.
