Home & Community Based Services
The caring professional staff at Bornhava provide a variety of services in the community for birth to 5-year old children. Services are provided according to the child’s IFSP or IEP. They may be in a child’s home, daycare, preschool or other community setting. Teachers and therapists utilize play-based techniques in a developmentally appropriate framework. Implementation of services in a child’s natural environment is ideal for Early Intervention services for those in child’s life to be intricately involved in the implementation and carryover of therapy techniques.
Therapy provided in the home/community is considered least restricted environment for CPSE. Collaboration with family, caregivers, and teachers aides in the facilitation of generalization of learning skills.
Please refer to the Early Intervention 0-2 years section for further information regarding children in this age range. For children aged, 3 -5 years, refer to the Committee on Preschool Special Education 3-5 year section. Information is included in these sections regarding referral and evaluation process.
